Random Acts of Kindness to Support our Community
04/24/2020
Let’s blanket our world with LOVE! It’s simple! Just make a heart from any object and tape it to a street-facing window to send your love out to the world. Encourage all your friends to do the same. Then, in a few days, take a family walk (keeping 6 feet distance from others!) to search for other hearts. How fun it will be to watch the love grow!

CHARACTER VALUE TIP FOR APRIL: SELF DISCIPLINE
SELF DISCIPLINEsmiley

The definition of self discipline is as follows:

Self discipline is the disciplined training of ones self with some kind of self improvement in mind. This is a trait used by athletes, artists and musicians and should be used by students in the same way. There is also an important underlying theme of self control. For personal happiness and social harmony we need to act and speak appropriately.

Here are some tips for working towards self discipline:
  1. Keep your personal space neat and organized.
  2. Throw away things that you really have NO use for.
  3. Practice self control when you get really angry.
  4. Do your chores and your homework WITHOUT being asked.
  5. Keep your promises to your family and to yourself!
  6. Express your feelings with appropriate words and or actions

HOW TO SET GOALS

1. Define the goal.*

2. Outline the steps needed to achieve it.

3. Consider possible blocks and ways of dealing with them.

4. Set deadlines.

*Not every wish can be a goal. For instance, you may wish you could live and stay young forever, but since there's nothing you can do to make that happen, it could never be considered a goal.

In order for something to be a goal, you must have self discipline! Remember these key points!

It has to be important to you, personally.

It has to be within your power to make it happen through your own actions.

It has to be something you have a reasonable chance of achieving.

It must be clearly defined and have a specific plan of action.
