On Thursday March 18th, School 4 was lucky to have Flow and Grow Yoga conduct a virtual assembly for all students. The presenter demonstrated yoga and breathing techniques that can be done anywhere- including in the classroom! We learned what our body feels like when we are distracted, frustrated, wired or tired, and ways we can calm down and center ourselves. Teachers emailed home the handout from the assembly with an overview of all techniques that were reviewed. Included below is an overview of the deer walk. This is a mindful walk exercise that is perfect for students (or parents) to do when one needs to clear the mind. Feel free to review the handout that was sent home. We encourage you to try these practices at home and see the impact regular mindful breathing can have on one's mental health!
